Mother and Child Health
HDI supports mother and child medical clinics in the Tanzania where communities are experiencing abject health problems, including HIV-AIDS and malaria. These patients are vulnerable to so many of the deprivations resulting from the poverty in their area.
The projects aim to reduce both maternal and infant mortality and increase utilization of modern contraception by providing equipment, medical supplies and staff training. Lack of proper support for mothers and their infants has been keenly felt in Tanzania.
You Can Help
! Our team works around the clock to provide assistance to people in impoverished areas, and you can join us.
Our observations are that this is a land enormously rich in natural resources yet the human population suffers the results of extreme poverty. The nation is in the midst of a health crisis. Life expectancy at birth is less than 49 years.
With a severe lack of preventive disease immunizations, and an infant mortality rate of 97 per 1,000 live births, it is crucial to provide medical care to expecting mothers, as well as to the newborn population. It is also imperative to improve sanitation. Far too little of the population has access to safe water, and far too few have access to adequate sanitation.
How will your contributions help women and children? HDI will use your donations to improve basic health care and sanitation systems. HDI works towards establishing and maintaining an adequate and culturally acceptable infrastructure, which will empower these populations and communities.
